Dog Park to Open September 10

Reported by Ernie Clevinger

Lake Heritage Dog Lovers…wait no longer…the Dog Park is scheduled to open.

Ooops. I didn’t read the part about the hot dogs were for humans. Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission!

Ernie Clevinger, the Dog Park Committee Chairperson, has declared that the Bob Bate’s Memorial Dog Park will open on September 10 at noon. There will be a two hour ceremony starting at noon with refreshments consisting of hot dogs, soda, potato, chips and cookies for humans. The entire community is invited to come out and see the splendid work, no dog required!

As part of the merry occasion there will be a canine beauty contest. Dogs will be judged for the best costume, cutest, smallest, biggest, longest tail, shortest and longest ears – ribbons will be awarded to the winners.

Hot Dogs are only for humans!!!

Karen Reed will be coordinating the sweets for our grand opening. If you would like to assist Karen, please call her at 717- 334-1185. We have installed all the signs, poop bags dispense, a garbage can for poop bags in each section of the park, one bench in each section, Keith Majeczky donated a picnic table that has been placed in the large dog section.
