Maintenance/Beautification Committee : November Report

The Maintenance/Beautification Committee oversees the upkeep of the public areas and facilities at Lake Heritage. The Maintenance/Beautification Committee meets at 2 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of every month.

The following items were discussed or action approved during the Maintenance/Beautification Committee Meeting on October 24th.

Updates and status reports were given on the following ongoing projects:
Roads – completed
Repair of crack between tennis court and shuffleboard at the Point – tabled until decision on repair contract at the November Board Meeting
Picnic Tables – New tables delivered to Paradise Cove pavilion and four are to be delivered to Community Center deck.
Dry fire hydrants – Waiting for return of divers for update. Adams Electric is prepared to donate the needed kit to install a new hydrant if it’s determined if one is needed.
Community Kitchen – New shelving has been installed in the old Community Center concessions to create new storage for clubs.

Cove Cleanup – West side of lake will be main priority for winter 2018/2019. It was reported that at their October meeting, the Lake and Dam Committee discussed annual dredging at the north end of lake to reduce the of new muck entering the lake.
Swales – Discussion pursued on issues with swales throughout the lake and ideas on how to address them.
A new vinyl floating floor product was selected for the Gatehouse and Community Center kitchen.

Sue Heller reported that Schmitt’s in Gettysburg, Myers in Littlestown, Color Wheel in Hanover, and Henry’s in Greencastle have expressed interest in submitting bids on the new flooring.
Tree maintenance and removal will begin this winter.

The next Maintenance/Beautification will be on November 28th in the small meeting room at the Community Center.
