To help protect doctors, nurses, and first responders on the frontline, who are exposing themselves every day to COVID 19, the Lake Heritage Women’s Club, Creativity Club, and other members have been making masks. At this time, over 500 were made and shipped to hospitals and clinics in Baltimore, Westminster, John Hopkins, New York City, Philadelphia, Hanover, Louisiana, Texas, and North Carolina. The labor and shipping costs were all donated by T & T Quilters and friends.
If you would like to donate to the cause, cotton fabric, elastic, and ribbons are needed along with monetary donations to assist with shipping costs of masks. Drop off your donations to Donna Klem at 758 McClellan Drive or call her at 301-602-7994.
A BIG shout out of thanks to all who responded quickly to the need to make masks for medical workers, LHPOA staff, friends, and neighbors. The lake members behind the masks include Dalene Behrens, Lorraine Edwards, Kathy Evans, Linda Fauth, Dawn Franzese, Lynne Hershey, Karen Kane, Dona Klem, Aleta Kressley, Gayle Kushner, Cecilia Moran, Cindy Moran, Ann Ratay, Agnes Reuter, Samantha Richards, Robin Robertson, Dawn Levickas, Beth Bauer, Valerie Shephard, and Katie Thomas. We apologize if we missed acknowledging any mask makers. If we did, you really did hide behind the mask.
Thank you all.
