Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) Update – January 2019

Reported by Stephanie Ecker

The SPC met on January 17 at 6:30 PM.  Present at the meeting were Biz Gomer, Ted Demarest, Tim Woodward, Betsy Meyer,  Eric Meyer, and Chair Beth Bauer

We  are pleased that one of the goals of the strategic plan has been met.  That is objective 1, goal 5: Target an operating reserve of an appropriate percent of the annual operating budget.  In the 2020 budget, there is an amount of $25,000 identified as an Operating Reserve Fund.  The committee’s draft of an Operating Reserve Fund Policy was adopted by the BOD at the January board meeting.

As a committee, we also promoted a glossary of financial terms that has been completed and shared with the community (see website and December newsletter.)

The amenities survey is ready to go to the BOD for review and approval.  As previously reported, the SPC has been working on a method to gather information from the community as to what Lake Heritage should look like in the future.  The overall question of the survey is what do we want in additions around the Lake.  Look to see the survey soon!

Another part of the Strategic Plan is to promote a sense of community.  The SPC brainstormed ideas for a LHPOA volunteer day.  We are considering scheduling this around Earth Day, April 22.  We agreed that we would like to see many projects going on around the Lake with many people involved. Look for more information to come on this!
