Walking, bicycling, running or hiking in Lake Heritage and Adams County

Contributed by Eric Meyer

Lake Heritage has lovely, relatively quiet neighborhood streets that are great for short distance walks, runs, or bike rides. Our Woodland Trail also provides a close-by natural trail to do a (very) little bit of hiking – great for beginner hikers, youngsters, or just a quick trip. The neighborhood has produced the attached “Rules of the Road” to help ensure that all users of our roads (autos, bicycles and pedestrians) share our roads in the safest and most courteous way possible.

Just outside our neighborhood Adams County offers many beautiful roads and trails for walking and bicycle riding. These include roads and trails inside the Gettysburg National Military Park, a trail at the United Lutheran Seminary and then many quiet country roads.
